Chase Freedom® Announces Gas Stations, Rental Cars, Movie Theaters and Select Live Entertainment as Third Quarter 2022 Quarterly Categories

Today, Chase Freedom announced new rotating quarterly categories for Q3 2022 for Freedom and Freedom Flex cardholders: gas stations, rental car agencies, movie theaters and select live entertainment. Quarterly categories allow cardholders to earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories from July 1 through September 30, 2022.

“We know people are eager to catch up with friends and family by taking road trips and coming back to celebrate summer with live events,” said Brent Reinhard, CEO of Chase Freedom. “The new Freedom categories will give cardholders the opportunity to earn even more cash back on some of the places they spend the most during the summer months.”

From July 1 through September 30, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardholders can earn 5% cash back on the following:

• Petrol stations and car rental agencies: Whether you’re driving around town for weekend errands or renting a car for a summer road trip, travel and refueling costs can add up quickly. Cardholders can earn cash back at the gas station or when renting a car.
• Select Live Entertainment** and Movie Theaters: For the first time, Freedom’s new category can help cardholders earn 5% cash back on summer’s hottest sporting events and blockbuster movies.
  
  **Live entertainment includes major professional sporting events, zoos and aquariums, concerts, theater productions, museums, tourist attractions and exhibits, amusement parks, circuses, carnivals, bands and performers (ticket agencies selling on behalf of the entertainment venue are included) .

To further help consumers reduce the impact of rising gas prices, Chase Freedom has extended its new gasoline offer for cardholders through October 16, 2022. New cardholders who request a Chase Freedom Unlimited or Freedom Flex credit card can earn a $200 sign-up bonus after spending $500 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Plus, new cardholders can earn 5% back on gas for every dollar spent on purchases made during the first year after opening an account, or until cardholders card reach $6,000 in gas station purchases, whichever comes first.

In addition to the 5% spin categories, Freedom Flex cardholders can also earn cash back on a variety of other purchases including: 5% back on travel purchased through Chase’s Ultimate Rewards, 3% discount on restaurants and pharmacies and 1% discount on all other purchases.
